Abstract

Farrington's 1947 hypothesis that the Knockmealdown Mountains were a glacial nunatak is tested and confirmed. The unglaciatcd area was considerably less than Farrington suggested and the maximum altitude reached by the ice around the mountains appears to have been around 365 m.
